May & June

The last couple of months have been busy as usual. In the last blog I mentioned that Matt would be doing his physical testing for the Edmond Fire Dept. He made it through the physical as expected, but fell just a few points shy of getting to the oral interviews that followed. It was a real shock and disapointment for him. But for all that know Matt, we know he is a fighter and he'll try again. For reasons that we aren't aware of yet this was the best possible scenario for our lives at this time.

The lawn business is going great! Matt will be able to devote the entire first year to getting the business off the ground versus being in rookie school.

We have been spending some time at the Sante Fe Club's pool thanks to "Ball" (Brian Kidd). Brian works with Matt at DCFD and lives right around the corner from us. Bo has a great time! He never takes off his sunglasses and loves to take his "Cool Growls" along for a swim.

The DCFD hosted a flag football game against Oak Cliff Fire Department last week. It was much more physical than the old men had expected! Matt even cracked a rib! Despite the injuries, we won 21 to 7. We are now planning on a fire department softball round robin for the fall with the wives included. That should be awesome fun!

For all out there reading who haven't seen "The Hangover" yet, I recommend it as one of the funniest movies I've seen! I took Matt to see it for father's day and we can't wait for it to come out on DVD so we can purchase it!

After the 4th we will be planning our annual camping trip/family reunion at Ft. Supply. We can't wait. It's gonna be great to get away for a few days as we don't get to travel much anywhere being self-employed. Our businesses are demanding of us being present and available. But once a year for four days is good enough for us!

Bo is as sharp as a whip! He is putting together 60 piece plus puzzles all by himself, conquering the memory game, counting, conversating like an adult, and even telling stories in major detail with third person antics and different voices. I am a very proud Mom!

I will definitely have a lot of new stuff to share after our July adventures! I hope you all have a safe and super fun Independence Day! Remember...Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of the right choice. Not my quote...but I like it.
